Whiskey is a grain alcohol made from Barley, Rye, Wheat, corn, different raw materials will give different flavors to whiskey.
Barley is an important raw material for brewing Scotch malt whiskey. It has the smell of malt, cream and grain, giving whiskey a deep and soft flavor.
Rye is mainly used to brew bourbon and American straight rye whiskey, and it is also one of the main raw materials for Canadian whiskey. The rye brings spice, especially pepper, to the whiskey, along with a bit of fruit.
Wheat A small number of bourbon whiskeys use wheat as an ingredient. Brings a smooth, velvety and sweet flavor to the whiskey.
Corn is the main ingredient in bourbon whiskey and the main ingredient in the flavor of bourbon. Brings slightly sweet and slightly spicy flavors to the whiskey, along with earthy and chaff notes.
